It is achieved by laser-bonding titanium carbide, one the hardest materials available on earth after diamond, to a steel blade. This laser fusion results in a virtually wearproof cutting edge that outperforms by a landslide any competing blades in edge retention. Each Evercut knife is engraved with a unique serial number and backed by a 25-year no-sharpening-required warranty. The cutlery industry relies on a standardized test to determine the durability of knives’ cutting-edge. This test is named CER for cutting-edge retention and is overseen by Catra, an independent british laboratory specialized in cutlery performances. According to Catra’s results, Evercut blades retain their sharp edge for 6600 cutting cycles on the CER test, which is 300 times longer than conventional steel blades (17 cycles) and up to five times longer than ceramic blades (1200 cycles). These results translate approximately in 25 years of domestic use without requiring any sharpening or honing at all. Evercut knives are made by 13th generation knife maker Tarrerias-Bonjean, a family-owned company located in the countryside of central France. The knives are crafted in Tarrerias-Bonjean’s factory of Thiers, France and feature a gorgeous faceted handle as well as a full tang blade for additional balance, and strength. This Furtif Evercut Carving Knife is designed for slicing. Use it for cutting slices of meat or poultry, or for breaking down large fruits or vegetables.
